The Relationship of Lithology with Landslide Occurrences in Banyumanik and Tembalang Districts, Semarang City

Abstract Movement of soil and rock masses down the slope or known as landslide is a natural activity that can pose danger to humans. Generally, be influenced by slope, materials (rock/soil), rainfall. Morphologically, study area, which located in borders Tembalang Banyumanik Districts, Semarang City, hill quite steep. It has potential experience landslides. Landslide occurences at area do not always occur on steep slopes. Therefore, aim this determine relationship between occurrences landslide. Data was obtained through mapping geological conditions enlisting area. Furthermore, correlation number type location ground motion carried out using information value method. Based mapping, 5 types lithology were obtained, namely: alluvium, breccia, sandstone, siltstone, claystone. Out 10 landslides found, 6 them occurred claystone lithology. We interpret are relating with 0.416. The claystone, part Kerek Formation, physically easily degraded. In addition, mostly found open slopes, where process erosion water more intense.
